William (Bill) Petty

Bill's life was filled with profound loves and unwavering faith. His greatest devotion was to our Lord Jesus, followed closely by his deep affection for his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His warmth extended to his church family and the many cherished friends he made throughout his life. A true nature enthusiast, Bill found joy in crappie fishing, preparing for his next trip even in his final days.

A hardworking soul, Bill spent most of his adult years in construction. In the weeks leading up to his passing, he lovingly toiled in his workshop, ensuring that life would be a bit easier for his wife, DiAnna, after his departure. Though his battle with Alzheimer’s Dementia and other illnesses eventually took him from us, his memories remain a source of comfort and joy.

Bill and DiAnna wed on December 7, 1979, blending their families and embracing life together. He is survived by his estranged son Richard Petty, daughters Heather McCrery and the late April Templeton, and step-son James Connolly, Jr. He leaves behind siblings Richard, Claudia, Marsha, and Brenda. Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Hazel Petty, and siblings Sally, MayAnn, Linda, Roberta, and Connie.

As per Bill's wishes, his body was cremated, and a celebration of life will be announced soon via Facebook or text message. He longed for the day we could all reunite in heavenly perfection, and he will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
