In Loving Memory of Tony Steele
November 4, 1963 – May 31, 2026
Tony Steele, aged 62, of Ames, Iowa, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. Losing his battle with Kidney Faliure. While our hearts ache with his loss, we find comfort in celebrating a life marked by purpose, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to others.
Tony’s life was a testament to quiet strength and dedication. As a Maintenance Manager with First Property Management, he was much more than a skilled professional—he was a trusted friend and a comforting presence to countless residents throughout Ames. Whether attending to small repairs or urgent needs, Tony approached every task with kindness, professionalism, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
His compassion extended well beyond his work. For eleven years, Tony devoted himself to supporting the homeless community through the Bridge Home in Ames. His selfless service was motivated not by recognition, but by a deep belief in dignity, respect, and kindness for all. Time and again, he showed up for those in need, offering both practical help and a caring heart.
Above all his accomplishments, Tony was proudest of being a father. Raising his daughters as a single parent, he faced challenges many would find overwhelming, yet he met each one with determination, sacrifice, and boundless love. He provided tirelessly for his family and taught them values of hard work, resilience, compassion, and integrity. To his children, he was not only a provider but also a protector, teacher, and steady foundation.
Tony is lovingly remembered by his daughters: Hanna Steele, mother to Gunner, Gracie, and Houston; Brandy Hadden, mother to Nolan, Charlie, Archer, Talan, and Sophia; Julie Steele, mother to Luna; and Chloe Steele, mother to Aster. He was a proud grandfather who found immense joy and purpose in his grandchildren.
He is also survived by his siblings—Bill Steele, Mary Clark, and Terry Steele, Patty Steele—and numerous extended family members, friends, coworkers, and community members whose lives he touched with his kindness.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Linda and Hubert Steele; his brothers, Timmy Steele and Mark Steele; his daughter, Nicloe Steele; and his cherished grandchildren, Baby Aether and Baby A, whom he carried forever in his heart.
Those who knew Tony will always remember his willingness to lend a hand, his steady and reassuring presence, his gentle humor, and the unconditional love he poured into his family. He lived by simple yet profound values: work hard, care deeply, respect the environment, and always let those you love know they are cherished.
Tony’s legacy will forever live on in the family he treasured, the communities he supported, and the countless lives he touched in Ames. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day.” ❤️
