"With a broken heart Thomas Edward Davis IV of West Des Moines, IA passed away July 15th, 2023, in a tragic car accident. Tommy graduated from Valley High School. Tommy had a kind heart and a radiant lasting smile. Tommy worked a variety of trades. Tommy was respectful, loved his family dearly and was generally fearless. He had a passion for cars, motorcycles, fishing and baseball. He enjoyed being social and around his friends. Sadly, after years of being in and out of treatment, Tommy succumbed to his addiction. He is no longer suffering and is in Heaven with his father. Our family has chosen to speak openly the truth and circumstances as we know it on addiction and mental health to hopefully make a difference in ours and other people's lives. The family is in awe of all the community resources that were at our disposal. A special thank you to Bridges Rehabilitation, Broadlawns Hospital, Sober Soldierz, West Des Moines Police Crisis Team and his probation officer Bob. All these people showed enormous kindness, patience and love for Tommy. Tommy is survived by Mother Dena Davis (fiance Jeff Brandon), Sister Shannon Davis, Sister Allison Armstrong, Brother Donnie Davis , his Son Brycen Davis, Niece and Nephew Rylee and Patrick Emery. He is proceeded in death by his Father Tim Davis. A celebration of life will be set in the coming weeks."
