Tammie Gray

Tammie Gray passed away in her home in Winterset in May, 2026.

Tammie was born in 1961, in Oskaloosa, IA. She lived in various areas of California throughout her childhood. Some of Tammie's favorite family memories are of camping in Sequoia National Park and trips to Disneyland.

After graduation in 1979, Tammie moved to Iowa, the state in which she always wanted live. In 1982, she gave birth to her first daughter, Mattie. She gave birth to her second daughter, Katie, in 1986.

Tammie worked almost a decade farrowing and working with piglets. This inspired a lifelong love for all things pig. She worked many years for different Fareway stores in their meat department.

Tammie had dreamed to move to John Wayne's birthplace since she was a teenager. In 2013, she landed in Winterset, IA. She was a proud custodian for Winterset High School.

She is survived by her two daughters and three siblings.
