Sylvia Kelly (Simon), 87, passed away July 23rd at Bethany Life in Story City, Iowa. Per her request, no services have been planned. Born in North Dakota, her family moved to Osage, Iowa, where she attended Osage High School. She married in 1952 to James Kelly; they divorced in 1987. She worked as a Certified Nurses' Assistant in various assisted living facilities in Des Moines. She enjoyed gardening, reading and cats. Surviving are two daughters, Lora Kelly-Benck (Gary Benck) of Des Moines, and Paula Kelly of Coralville, Iowa. She has two grandchildren, Morgan Benck of Des Moines and Peter Benck of Madison, Wisconsin, and numerous nieces and nephews. Sylvia was predeceased by her parents, two sisters and her daughter, Erin Kelly. The family wishes to thank the kind and dedicated staff at the Homes of Bethany for their excellent care.
