Sharon Mrgich, 69, a longtime resident of Coralville, IA, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday evening, January 31st , 2026. Sharon was born on August 27th, 1956, in Lancaster County, Nebraska. At a young age, she moved to Fontana, CA, where she was raised and later graduated from Fontana High School. After spending many years in California, she and her husband moved to Coralville, IA. where they built their lives together. For many years, Sharon and her husband owned and operated Quiznos Sub-franchises in the Iowa City and North Liberty areas. She later retired from the University of Iowa. In her retirement, Sharon devoted much of her time to redecorating her home-something she had a true gift for, even if she never took a paycheck for it. She was known for her incredible attention to detail, strong work ethic, and kind heart. Sharon loved helping others and was an exceptional baker, with skills that rivaled a professional chef. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 40 years, Greg, of Coralville, IA; her son Thomas and daughter-in-law Shelby Mrgich of North Liberty, IA; her daughter, Amanda, and son-in-law Jerry Brown of Hesperia, CA; her stepson Josh and daughter-in-law Bree Wood of North Liberty, IA; her brothers, Jerry Maddock of Hesperia, CA; Michael Maddock of Omaha, NE; her sisters, Deborah Maddock of Henderson, NV; Joanna Pattison of Seattle, WA; and Mary and her husband Michael Graham of Lake Elsinore, CA; She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Mila, A.J., Stella, Noah, Jordan, and Ethan, who meant the world to her, as well as many nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Bob Rogers; her mother, Shirley Maddock; and her stepfather, Joe Maddock. Sharon will always be loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten. She will remain forever in our hearts.
