It is with a sense of joyous remembrance, and a touch of humor, that we announce the life of Sean "Waffle" Ferguson, a man who embraced life with a belly laugh and a supportive shoulder. Sean was born on July 20, 1968, and he decided to hit the pit stop on April 24, 2026. He was a man who believed in the words of Dale Earnhardt, "You can't let one bad moment spoil a bunch of good ones." And oh boy, did Sean have a lot of good moments.
Sean, known as "Waffle" to his grandkids, spent his life in Marshalltown, Cedar Rapids, and Des Moines. His passion for life was only surpassed by his love for Nascar Racing, video games, and of course, his son, Brandyn Ferguson. His supportive nature was as reliable as a green flag on a race day, always there to cheer you on. As a funny, supportive father and friend, Sean was the pit crew chief in the race of life who made sure all your tires were topped off and your engine was roaring.
Sean's life revolved around his son, Brandyn, who survives him. In the words of the great Nascar driver, Richard Petty, "Racing is a matter of spirit not strength." Sean's spirit will continue to be a source of strength and laughter for Brandyn and all those who knew him.
In memory of Sean, let's not mourn his loss but rather celebrate his life, his humor, and his unwavering spirit. We invite you to share your memories and upload photos of Sean on the memorial page. Relive the laughter, the fun, and the warmth that was Sean "Waffle" Ferguson. In the great race of life, he was a true champion, and his spirit will continue to wave the checkered flag in our hearts.
