Ruby Nelson, 56 of Des Moines passed away on September 30, 2014 at University Park Nursing & Rehab in Des Moines. Memorial services for Ruby will be held on October 11, 2014 at 4 pm at Pollys house, 1341 Forest Avenue in Des Moines. Ruby was born on July 24, 1958 to Brady Nelson Sr. and Martha Haywood in Des Moines. She was a member of Mount Hebrew Baptist Church in Des Moines. She had a great love for her family most especially her nieces and nephews, sewing and making cloths, cooking, helping people, and her friends. Those left to cherish Rubys loving memories are her brothers, Brady (Linda) Nelson of Minneapolis, John (Rosemary) Nelson of Des Moines, Duane (Shari) Nelson of Des Moines, and Edward (Karla) Nelson of Des Moines; her sisters Patricia (David) Massey of Nebraska, and Polly Nelson of Des Moines; many nieces, nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Virginia Walden, and brother George Nelson. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
