Ronald Scot Gibson, 63, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025, at his Cedar Falls home with family and friends by his side.
Scot was born on December 29, 1961, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Ronald and Mary Gibson.
He was a devoted follower of Christ, reading the Bible cover to cover and always sharing God's word with anyone who would listen. His faith was the foundation of everything he did, and he instilled the values of kindness, patience, and love in everyone around him.
For 20 years, he owned and operated Gibson Auto Body in Waterloo. Where his skills and passion for restoring cars were unmatched. He took great pride in his work. In his later years, he worked in welding and fabricating. He could fix or build anything, and his expertise was often called upon by his friends and family.
When Scot wasn't helping someone or working on his home, he loved spending time outside, fishing, listening to music, attending his grandchildren's sporting events, and being surrounded by his "tribe".
His legacy will live on through the memories we share, the values he instilled in us, and the love he gave. We take solace in knowing he is now at peace, reunited with the loved ones who have gone before him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children Scott Nicols, Valarie Gibson, Clarissa (Brandon) Thoma, Kyle (Josh) Heyns; eight grandchildren; brother Mark (Dalia) Gibson; two nephews and many, many cousins and friends.
He is proceeded in death by his parents and his brother Kevin.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 26th. Memorials may be directed to the family
