Richard Glenn Whelchel fell asleep in death Wednesday, September 9, 2015. Richard spent years working on drilling rigs. Most recently he retired after 15 years from BridgeStone/FireStone. He is survived by his wife, Angela Whelchel; his mother, Patricia Ann Whelchel; brothers: William, John Francis, and Steve Whelchel. Sisters: Patti Ann Ancell, Anastasia Whelchel, and Julia Marie Bradley. He was preceeded in death by his father, William Russell Whelchel and his brother, Raymond Eugene Whelchel. Memorial service will be Saturday, September 19th at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 1418 E. Washington, Des Moines, IA 50316 at3:00 p.m.
