On Sunday, October 22nd, 2023, the Reverend Peter C. Wegner, 77, of West Des Moines, Iowa, answered God's call to his eternal rest. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Deb, two children, Keri (Scott) and Peter J. (Michelle), eight grandchildren - Christopher, Michael, Logan, Ally, Matt, Lauren, Amelia, and Brooklynn, two great-grandchildren, three sisters - Karla (Lynn), Sharon (Don), and Mary (Paul -deceased), and a multitude of extended family - nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends... Peter's professional lifetime commitment of service to God as a minister of the gospel included shepherding four congregations of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod - Good Shepherd (Memphis, TN), St. John's (Chicago, IL), Shepherd of the Valley (West Des Moines, IA), and concluding with Peace Evangelical Lutheran (Des Moines, IA). In addition to congregational responsibilities, he actively participated in many Christian support agencies. His greatest joy was guiding God's people in their Christian journey. At this time, there is no public memorial service planned, but the family would like to invite all who knew and loved Peter to reflect on their personal memories and remember him by continuing daily to be mindful of living their commitment to following Christ, (Romans 8: 38, 39), and rejoice that he now knows Perfect Peace.
