Patricia Ann Presley passed away on June 17, 2026, at the age of 79.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 2:00-5:00pm at the Bayard Community Center, 400 Main Street Bayard, Iowa. A private graveside service will take place at a future date.

Patricia Ann Vaughan was born February 8, 1947 to Marion and Gretchen Vaughan. Ann, as she was known, went to Bayard Community School and graduated from the Bayard High School in 1965. She went on to study as a Flight Attendant at the McConnell Airline School in Minneapolis, MN. She worked for the airline and lived in Chicago and Milwaukee before moving back to Iowa and working as a Dental Assistant in Carroll. It was there that she met Forrest Dwayne Presley, who she married on January 7, 1972 at the Presbyterian Church in Auburn, IA. They made a home just outside of Auburn where they farmed together for many years.  In that time, they welcomed Wess Clinton Presley in January 1973 and Kimberley Ann Presley in October 1975. Ann and Dwayne later divorced but remained good friends. They shared holidays and special events with their two children and families until Dwayne passed in November of 2012.  Ann worked at New Hope Village in Carroll, until her retirement in 2014. During that time Ann earned a degree from DMACC and worked her way up from direct care to the position of Community Living Supervisor. After retirement, Ann moved to Indianola, IA to live with her daughter and that is where she enjoyed life until she passed on June 17, 2026, after losing her battle with cancer. Ann was a gifted writer, painter, and quilter as well as a gardener, DIY'er, and adventurer. She loved line dancing, kayaking the river, reading, and playing games; most notably Hand and Food and Scrabble. She was an adoring grandmother to her twin grandsons, Forrest & Grant, who were her absolute pride and joy. She enjoyed many travels with her son and his family and was a staple on their annual Spring Break trips. She visited Wess' family in Kansas often and would drop everything to go spend time with her grandsons. She enjoyed traveling the countryside with Wess as he bid water wells for his drilling company and never turned down a rousing game of pickleball or baseball with her boys. Ann and Kim spent most of their time together doing household projects, building things, gardening, or writing/sewing/baking, etc. Ann never said no to an idea or a project and was always up to have some fun. She was internet famous for her shenanigans; which Kim frequently wrote about on her social media page. They were truly best friends.

She was loved by all who knew her and by many who had never met her. She will be truly missed.

Ann was preceded in death by her father and mother, Marion and Gretchen Vaughan; siblings Richard and Sue; ex-husband, Dwayne, and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and cherished relatives. She leaves behind her two children, Wess (DeAnn) of Westmoreland, KS and Kimberley of Indianola, IA; grandsons, Forrest & Grant; her beloved pets, Sadie and Chester; as well as her many four-legged, furry grandchildren.
