Nancy M. Bass, 83, of Pella, passed away on Monday, May 4th, 2026, at The Cottages at Heartstone.

Nancy Marie (Voshell) Bass was born on April 11, 1943, the child of Myrtle Ione (Wilson) and Wesley Leroy Voshell. She was raised in Oelwein, Iowa, where she attended school. Nancy married Robert Paul Bass on July 3rd, 1961, and they went on to have 6 children. She worked as the head of housekeeping at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette, and was the housekeeping supervisor at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Later in life, Nancy moved to Pella and continued to work as a housekeeper. She loved music, often playing guitar and singing. She also enjoyed playing bingo with family.

Nancy is survived by 4 children: Becky O’Dell, Deb Schlatter, Doug (Kristi) Bass, and Chris (Matt) White; 7 grandchildren: Cory O’Dell, Stephanie (Emily) Schlatter-Stohs, Jacob Schlatter, Logan (Emilee), Maddy, and Olivia White; 4 great grandchildren: Rozline, Ronnie, and Everleigh O’Dell, Lily White; and 2 sisters: Vicki Villa, and Billie (Charles) Smith.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; 4 sisters: Mary “Dee Dee” Holtzman, Patricia Cirksena, Kathy Hinkel, Jo Voshell; 2 brothers: Lawrence and Ronald Voshell; 2 children: Jean and Paul Bass; and Robert Bass.
