Marilyn Ann Norris was born in Ogden, Iowa on November 8,1934 to Clarence and Nellie Anderson. She spent her childhood in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School. Her family owned and operated the General Store in town.
Marilyn married Dudley "Dud" Dale Norris in Indianola, Iowa on August 19, 1957. They had three children; Anne Haralson of Garland, Texas, Kathy (Bob) Wilbert of Des Moines, Iowa and Mark Norris of Norwalk, Iowa.
Marilyn and Dud owned family businesses most of their lives. The family first owned and operated Fishhook Resort in Reeds Spring, Missouri on Table Rock Lake. In 1976, they returned to Iowa and purchased Golf Village in Altoona, Iowa. Marilyn, Dud and the kids operated Golf Village from 1976 until it closed in 1998.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Nellie Anderson, her husband, Dud Norris, and two brothers and two sisters. Marilyn is survived by her brother, Bob (Charlotte) Anderson, her three loving children, Anne Haralson, Kathy (Bob) Wilbert, and Mark Norris, six loving grandchildren, Charlie and Allyson Haralson, Stephanie (Shawn) Elifritz, Michelle Wilbert, Samantha and Laci Norris, and four great grandchildren.
Celebrate Life Iowa has been entrusted with Marilyn's cremation care and no services are planned.
