Obituary

Lisa Marie (Gebhardt) Rodrick, age 43, passed away at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, surrounded by her family, on January 25, 2026. Lisa was born on August 5, 1982, in Streator, IL. She graduated from Streator Township High School with the Class of 2000. On August 4, 2007, she married Tim Rodrick of Streator, and together they made their home in Iowa. Lisa enjoyed fishing, playing games on her phone, and spending time with Murphi, her granddaughter. She loved her dogs—Elsii, Lexxi, and Cocoa—and had recently developed a love for cooking. One of her favorite activities was "walking"—cruising in her electric wheelchair with Tim along the river into town, and being outside. Described by her family as feisty and stubborn, Lisa lived with health challenges from birth and faced them with courage and determination throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her loving grandmother, Dorothy Nolan; grandfather, John Nolan; her paternal grandparents; her father, Jerry (Trix) Gebhardt; her stepfather, Glen Hepner; her mother-in-law, Brigette Rodrick; and her granddaughter, Tilli Rose Wagner. Lisa is survived by her devoted husband, Tim Rodrick; her mother, Kathy (Gebhardt) Hepner; her stepmother, Jane Gebhardt; and her father-in-law, Edward Rodrick. She is also survived by her siblings, Jennifer (Gebhardt) McMullen, Shelly (Gebhardt) Strand, and Scott Gebhardt; her niece, Olivia Strand; and her nephew, Hank McMullen. Additional survivors include her stepsiblings Jason Gaydos, Casey (Hepner) Sorenson, and Paul Hepner, her stepdaughters, Holli Rodrick, Brandi Rodrick, and Wendi Rodrick; and her grandchildren, Jonathan Fernandez, Hunter MacDonald, Brandon Fernandez, Murphi Wagner, and Vera Mae Ellis. Cremation will be accorded. Private services may be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation in Lisa's honor.
