Linda Sammons, 62, of Ottumwa, Iowa, passed away on September 23, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital after a long battle with a lung illness.
She was born on July 19, 1963, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Kenneth Eugene and Ruth Mae (Hewitt) Sammons. Linda worked as a home health aide, and her kind heart, cheerful spirit, and compassion made her clients feel valued and truly cared for. She enjoyed and was amazed by the beauty of nature, experiencing the awe and wonder it inspired. Some of her favorite things to do were bird watching, fishing, mushroom hunting, gardening, and watching her favorite Andy Griffith sitcom. Most of all, she loved and enjoyed being with her grandchildren. Her presence will be greatly missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Surviving are her life partner, Kevin Given; children, Ashley (Jon) Nolin, and John Tully; siblings, Keith (Sue) Sammons, Mike Sammons, Angie (Jack) Ware, Tony (Lorrye) Sammons; grandchildren, Hayden, Adelynn, Emerson, and Jacobie; many nieces and nephews

A Celebration of Life is planned on October 11th at 11 :00 a.m. at Ottumwa Community Church, 305 S Walnut, Ottumwa, Iowa 52501
