Linda Jean (Knueppel) Largent

Linda Jean (Knueppel) Largent, age 74, of Tiffin, Iowa, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at The University of Iowa Hospital Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. She was born on April 2, 1952, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, first-born of four children to Forrest Darrell and Doris Jane (Guetzke) Knueppel of Beloit, Wisconsin.

Linda graduated from Clinton High School in Clinton, Wisconsin in 1970. She was united in marriage to Kent Henry Williams on April 18, 1973, at Base Chapel Little Creek Naval Base in Norfolk, Virginia. Together they raised five children in Clinton, Wisconsin, including two sets of twins. She devoted her career to becoming an RN with a degree from Swedish American Hospital of Rockford, Illinois, and worked in patient care, medical case management, and as a paramedic.

A devout Christian with an unwavering, strong faith, Linda spent her life serving God and spreading His love. She was a dedicated member of her church, where she took great joy in teaching Sunday School and lifting her voice in praise and worship.

To her family and friends, Linda's kitchen was the heart of her home. She was an exceptional cook, famous for her incredible brownies, pumpkin bars, unmatched gingersnaps, and Sunday after-church beef pot roast and pressure-cooker mashed potatoes with gravy. She enjoyed playing euchre and 500, hosting card parties, and shopping with her girls so she could be fashionable. More than anything, Linda cherished family gatherings, wrapping her loved ones in warmth, laughter, and a sense of belonging. Her legacy of faith and love will live on in the hearts of everyone she touched.

In 2008, Linda moved to Portage Des Sioux, Missouri, a quaint historic village located on the Mississippi River. There she enjoyed making friends, nature and the abundance of bald eagles in the area, and working at the small convenience store in town.

Linda married again in 2013 to Mark Lewis Largent of Rockford, Illinois. Together they enjoyed dining out, attending church, time spent with grandchildren, and sharing their home for family meals and gatherings.

She is survived by her loving family including her children, Sara (Tom) Balster of Middleton, Wisconsin, Reba (Jim) Siewert of Tiffin, Iowa, Ondra Williams of Oregon, Wisconsin, Austen (Sara) Williams of Cuba City, Wisconsin, and Anden Williams of Clinton, Wisconsin. She is further survived by husband, Mark Largent, former spouse, Kent Williams, brother Steve (Sue) Knueppel, brother Paul (Mary) Knueppel, sister Kay (Mark) Hoffmann, special friend Bill, nieces, nephews, and eight grandchildren including Chloe, Adalie, Anthony, Elliot, Isabella, Abigail, Ellie, and Hannah. She was preceded in death by her parents, aunts, uncles, and grandson, Henry.

A celebration of Linda's life and faith will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. and livestreamed here at St. John's Lutheran Church, 625 East Netherwood Street, Oregon, Wisconsin, 53575, with a visitation before service starting at 10:00 a.m. All are invited to a luncheon directly following service to share special memories and stories of Linda. In honor of her lifelong devotion to her faith and her love of music, memorial donations may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church to support the worship and music ministry.
