Justin Charles Braaksma, age 51, of Newton, Iowa passed away peacefully with close family and friends by his side on Wednesday, July 30th, 2025 at Mercy One Medical Center. Justin was a father, grandfather, son, husband, uncle, and friend to many who loved him dearly. He shared his time with his significant other and wife, Charity Stier-Braaksma, his kids, and grandson, William. Justin touched the lives of many others as well. Justin was born October 13th, 1973 to parents Charles "Chuck" Braaksma and Debbie Gulling (Witte). Justin was a brother to Jason, Jeff, Jared, and Chelsie. Memories shared regarding Justin include; him playing video games with his children throughout the years, his love for cars and working on them, going joy riding, and music blaring. He had a love for fishing, coffee dates, going on bike rides, being the jokester of the family and a love for food. Justin was a hard worker, strong, stubborn and did things his own way. He fought hard in life and did so until the end of his life. Justin will be deeply missed and remembered by his spouse, Charity Stier-Braaksma, his children, Serenity (and Cameron) Bookout of Newton, Iowa, Hannah (West) Spangenburg of Grinnell, Iowa, Micah (Emma Van Cleave) Stier of Newton, Iowa, and Nevaeh (Wyatt) Beener of Newton, Iowa. Grandchildren Jaxton, William, Luella and his two unborn twin grandsons. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
