Joyce Schubert Broderick, 84, of West Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on June 28th , 2024, surrounded by family after a brief and courageous battle with colon cancer. Joyce was born on February 17th, 1940, and grew up in Mt. Carroll, Illinois. She attended Huntington College in Huntington, Indiana, where she met her husband, Don Broderick, whom she married in 1961. Joyce was a loyal, proud, and hard worker. She ended her career at MidAmerican Energy with the perfect part-time job for her. When not working, Joyce enjoyed crocheting, watching football (she was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and Iowa Hawkeyes), reading, Elvis Presley and being a Grandma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert (Bob) Schubert and Mayme Randecker Schubert of Mt. Carroll, Illinois and her former husband, Don Broderick of New Lebanon, Ohio.
