John A. Slayton

John A. Slayton, age 70, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. His celebration of life service will be held on August 8, 2026, at The Saints Center in Stuart, Iowa. Service time is currently pending. 

Born on February 12, 1956, to Glenn Slayton and Mary Hayes, John lived a life defined by his dedication and the deep love of his family.

John’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He was a devoted and loving father to his children, John Tyler Slayton and his wife, Ashley, and Jennifer Lawson and her husband, Gregg. His legacy of kindness and wisdom will live on through his cherished grandchildren, Cale, Blaine, Knox, and Evelyn—who brought immense happiness and light to his life. John is also survived by his sisters, Coney and Christy, along with many family members and a myriad of friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Mary, and his beloved sister, Kelly

John’s warmth, guidance, and enduring spirit will be forever missed but never forgotten by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
