Joan Antonia Lee Weaver, 66, passed away on August 1, 2026, at the University of Iowa Comfort Care Hospice. Per Joan's wishes, she will be cremated, and no services will be held.

Joan was born on September 30, 1959, in Rock Island, Illinois, to Noel Hesser and Dixie Mallett Lamantia. She graduated from UTHS in 1977. Joan played in the UT Band for 4 years as first-chair flutist. She also played the tenor saxophone. Joan then attended Davenport Business College, where she graduated with an associate's degree in business. She married Steven L. Nichols in Moline, IL, on September 1, 2016. Joan was well known in the Quad-Cities as a happy, friendly D.J. and karaoke leader. Her life was all about music. Joan was also a Reverend and performed many weddings. She also had an online jewelry business. 

Joan had a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was our hero!

Those left to cherish her loving memory are her loving mother, Dixie Lamantia; step-father John Lamantia; nephew Brandon; great-nephew Matthias (Vanessa) Brandon; aunt Diane; uncle Dennis; and best friend Heidi.

She was preceded in death by her husband Steve, her father, brother Joel, loving dog Bridgit, and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Carmen Mallett and Mrs. Wilma Wilson.
