Jeffrey Lee Hendrickson, 66, died peacefully on August 22, 2026, at his home in Urbandale, IA, after battling a year-long illness with cancer.

Born to his late parents on July 19, 1960, in Fort Dodge, IA. Jeff was a man of great wit, a diligent worker, and a loving brother.

He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and brothers, Rod and Doug. He is survived by his wife, Tracy McGee Hendrickson, two daughters and two stepdaughters; 6 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. His brothers, Phil Hendrickson (Dawn) and Marty Hendrickson, both from Mount Pleasant, IA, and Mitch Hendrickson, (Stacy) from Pass Christian, MS, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles who will carry his memory with them always.

Jeff graduated in 1979 from Prairie Community High School and began his working life at Nestles in Fort Dodge, IA. He later moved to Texas to work as a journeyman plumber alongside his brothers. His dedication and hard work led him back to Iowa, where he joined another brother in the plumbing industry with Brockway Mechanical as a journeyman plumber and then received his master license. Before his retirement, he lent his skills to the Urbandale Community High School, working in the maintenance department. His career was marked by perseverance, hard work, and an unyielding drive to achieve excellence.

Outside of work, Jeffrey was a man of many passions. He was an avid golfer, a hunting enthusiast, and a die-hard Hawkeye Football fan. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was hunting pheasants and turkeys or camping under the wide-open Iowa skies.

Jeff was a man who never knew a stranger. His quick wit and comedic nature were infectious, spreading laughter and warmth wherever he went. In addition to his jovial nature, Jeff was fiercely competitive and never shied away from a challenge. His stubborn determination was a testament to his character; he never quit until the job was done.

Jeff's life will be honored through a celebration of life on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Assembly of God Student Center, located at 6800 Townsend Avenue in Urbandale. A burial will be held at a later date.

Though his physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the stories we share, the laughter he brought, and the lives he touched. May his soul rest in eternal peace. He will be deeply missed.
