Jacqueline “Jackie” Georgette Jacobs was born on July 3, 1961, in Jackson, Mississippi, to George Booker and Genora “Jerry” Course.

Jackie graduated from Callaway High School in 1979 and later attended college courses at Rice Community College in Jackson, MS earning an Associates Degree in Office Management. Her love for learning and helping others led her to a career in education, where she served as a Teacher’s Assistant with Jackson Public Schools for 13 years.

Jackie was first married to James Thigpen, and from this union her daughter Kenya Thigpen was born. She later married Bernard Williams, and from this union her daughter Kathy Williams (Battiste) was born.

In 1993, Jackie married Frankie Jacobs. Their union lasted 30 years and God blessed them with two daughters, Frankisha and Franchay Jacobs. Frankie passed away on August 3, 2022.

Jackie was cherished and loved by many. She was led to Christ and baptized as a child by her grandfather, Rev. West Lindsey Sr., and attended Old Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church. Through every trial and tribulation, she remembered to look to God for guidance and strength. She was also a member of Transformation Center Church in Jackson, Mississippi, under Pastor Frederick Stewart and First Lady Ashley Stewart. Jackie enjoyed singing, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. After being diagnosed with cancer in May 2026, she passed away quietly, surrounded by loved ones, on August 2, 2026, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She leaves to cherish her memory her four daughters: Kenya Thigpen, Kathy (Jimmal) Battiste, Frankisha Jacobs, and Franchay Jacobs; her three brothers, Tony Lindsey, Michael Booker, and M.C. (Brandy) Course III; and her nine grandchildren, Kenadi Thigpen, Omari Campbell Jr., Yolanda Campbell, Nigel Battiste, Honesty Battiste, Natalie Battiste, Nehemiah Battiste, Naomi Battiste, and Noelle Battiste.

She also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, close friends, and family members who will continue to cherish her memory.

Services will be held in Jackson, Mississippi on November 20, 2026.
