Geraldine Louise Statnick, age 91, peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Valley View Village in Des Moines, Iowa. She is survived by her children, Karen (Michael) Pewick, and Richard (Donna) Statnick, along with her grandchildren, Michelle (Jamie) Reesman, James (Cheryl) Statnick, Christopher Pewick, Matthew Pewick and her great granddaughter Sheray Statnick and Sister Carol Kemp. Geraldine was predeceased by her husband Walter and sister Margaret Bodnar. A Celebration of Life will be held at Valley View Village Chapel, in Des Moines, on Sunday April 29th at 2pm. Interment will be held at a later date in Johnstown, Pa. The family wishes to thank the staff of Valley View Village for the wonderful care provided to Gerry during her journey with Alzheimers disease. Memorial contributions may be directed to Valley View Village Employee Assistance Fund. Celebrate Life Iowa Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the cremation care of Geraldine.
