George "Bullet" Gaston, Jr., 71, of Waterloo, Iowa, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.
Born on January 9, 1954, in Eupora, Mississippi, George was the son of George Gaston, Sr. and Claudia Mae Gaston. In 1976, he enlisted in the Army National Guard, where he proudly served for 18 years. In 1980, he married Carline Kirkwood; the marriage later ended in divorce.
George enjoyed fishing and playing cards—though family and friends would jokingly say he liked to "cheat" from time to time—and he was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Janet Perry, and his son, Carius Gaston.
He is survived by his daughter, LaToya Gaston of Weir, MS; his son, Malcom Gaston of Weir, MS; his sisters, Marsha Johnson of Eupora, MS, Brenda Robinson of Newton, IA, Mary Helen Gaston of Eupora, MS, and Priscilla Hill of Maben, MS; and his brothers, Darrell Gaston of Des Moines, IA, and Larry (Shelley) Gaston of Bondurant, IA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026, in Waterloo, Iowa.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Gibson Street Church of God in Eupora, Mississippi.
