Gary Anderson, 74, of Buffalo Center Iowa, passed away on July 21, 2023. Born to Donald and Mildred (Weber) Anderson on June 19, 1949 in Mankato, Minnesota. Gary spent his formative years in Mankato Mn. where he attended school. Following school, Gary was drafted into the Army where he served honorably during the Vietnam war conflict. Gary owned 2 businesses; EL Metals in Eagle Lake, MN and Walters Liquor Store from 1983 to 2003 with his wife Joyce Anderson. He retired from Larson Manufacturing in Lake Mills, Iowa. He was a member of the Veterans Administration. Gary had many hobbies and interests including wood working, building and remodeling houses and unique structures. He was also known for his collection of Hot wheels, antiques, rocks, coins and memorabilia. He enjoyed helping people in need. He cherished traveling, classic cars, and spending time with friends and family. Those left to cherish his loving memory are his daughter, Leah Wittmer of Hayward MN, brother Bruce Anderson of Mankato MN, brother Bill Anderson of Mankato MN, brother Randy Anderson from Mankato MN, sister Vicky Hackbarth of Nicollet MN, sister Faye Geurs of Mankato MN, sister Judy Klingel of Mankato MN, sister Judy Burtzel of Mankato MN, brother Rick Anderson of Mankato MN, sister Karen Brooks of Mankato, sister Kathy Sieberg of Mankato, and many nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Mildred Anderson, brother Ron Anderson, brother Greg Anderson and son Lonny Anderson. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
