Franklin David (Dave) West III passed on April 14th, 2026, at age 75. Dave was born to Franklin D. West Jr. and Jean Ellen (McGillivray) West on September 22nd, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa. Dave was a graduate of Hoover High School and attended classes at DMACC.     Dave spent most of his life working on and selling cars and had a deep love for Cadillacs. Dave also spent some time in real estate. He enjoyed playing wheelchair basketball. He enjoyed fishing and fishing trips to Minnesota with his family.  He owned several horses that raced at Prairie Meadows. Dave was married to Wendy Lynne Fandrei for seven years. During that union, they were blessed with three children: Heather, Ryan, and Damian. They later divorced, and Dave met the love of his life, Sandra L. Barnes, on a beggar's night in 1978. It is very difficult to summarize the life of a man who left a mark on many people.     Dave is survived by his sister Kim Evans (Joe), his children, Heather Therkelsen (Matt), Ryan West, Damian West (Sara), Dalena Lewis, Diana Smith (Roger) and Dale Barnes. His grandchildren, Pam, Anne, Bryan, Mike, Adyson, Ashlyn, Brant, Teagan, Marissa, Rachel, Charlea, Sandra, Sebastian, and Victoria. Along with thirteen great-grandchildren.     He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Sally Hink, and several other loved ones.
