Donna (Scarbrough) Eilert Probasco Starr was born on August 29, 1933. She is survived by her children: David Eilert, Kristen Eilert Kay, Karen Eilert Perkins and her sisters Elaine Etchyison (Indianapolis) and Shirley Schmidt (Baxter). She grew up in the Kellogg and Newton area. She married Donald Eilert on September 27, 1953, and they soon moved to Grinnell to start their family. For the last 10 years she had been married to Dick Starr and they had resided in Indianola, IA. They loved to spend their time taking dance lessons, attending all Simpson College sporting events, going to the horse races and taking country drives. She has 6 grandchildren: Jesse Brown, Sara Eilert, Melissa Rose, Will Eilert, Noam Kay (18) and Asher Kay (16). She has 6 great grandchildren: Braden Johnson (16), Alex Johnson (12), Nora Johnson (9), Max Rose (8), Liam Rose (5) and Rory Flynn (4). She is preceded in death by her siblings: Evelyn Patterson, Jeanne Meyer, Burton Scarbrough, and her husbands Donald Eilert, Ronald Probasco, and Dick Starr. A memorial and celebration of life will be held at Herrick Chapel on Friday, July 1 from 11:00-2:00, with a memorial service at 12:00. The family will be greeting guests before and after the 12:00 service. Casual attire.
