The son of William L. Portugue and Roxanna M. Portugue, was born on April 12, 1969 to his mother, Roxanna and his biological father, David Gryp. Dave was a 1987 Graduate of Alwood High School, where he loved football and was known by his coaches as The only living Kamikaze. Dave lived life to extremes and was a laborer his entire life with several companies, the final being Quint City Stone in Davenport. Dave was diagnosed with glioblastoma brain cancer in 2014 and he remained a warrior and came to rest July 29, 2017 at home in Davenport, IA. He is preceded in death by his biological father, a sister and grandparents. Davids memory will live on in his parents, William L. and Roxanna M. Portugue. His wife, Bambi Portugue; children, Amber Portugue, Dalton Krueger and Gracie Portugue and grandson Gabriel; step children with Bambi, Ellexys, Codey and Robert; sisters, Tonya Ogden and Kathy Hyde, and brothers, William D. Portugue and David S. Gryp. Dave loved all of his family and friends to the fullest. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at First Bible Missionary Church (6310 N. Pine St) in Davenport, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to his wife. Celebrate Life Iowa has been entrusted with Davids cremation care.
