Obituary

David Clifford Clark, 66, of Lamoni, Iowa, passed away in his home on March 16, 2023. David was born on June 11, 1956, at Mount Ayr Hospital to parents Clarence and Catherine Clark (Horner.) He was baptized as a child into Lamoni Methodist Church. He grew up in Lamoni and lived there his whole life. He graduated from Lamoni High School in 1975. While attending high school, he was a member of his school's undefeated football team, as well as a member of the track team. David briefly moved away from home only once, to attend college. Originally, David attended Graceland University. During this time, he met his future wife, Carol. The two attended Graceland together until Carol's graduation. David then transferred to Southwestern Community College, graduating in 1978 with a degree in Building Trade. In 1979, David started David C. Clark Construction. During his forty years running the business, he earned a federal license to handle refrigerants. He also earned his state licenses for electrical, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning. He continued running the business until 2019 when he became ill. David was the first Iowan in history to participate in the trial run of the Pluvicto cancer treatment, once it was approved by the FDA. Although he had great success in his fist four sessions, and showed no side effects, his cancer mutated and resurged. David and Carol were married on May 2, 1977. Carol always introduced David as her better half. He always had a smile on his face and an upbeat attitude. She remembers him making others laugh with his jokes. Those left to cherish David's memory are his wife Carol A. Clark; siblings, sister Lois I. Wilhelm, brother John (Tamara) R. Clark, and brother Charles (Michelle) Clark; nephews and niece Paul Clark, Jason Wilhelm, and Catherine J Holthaus; brother-in-law Sthephen J Beavers; and many grandnephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Catherine Clark. Care for David and his family has been entrusted to Celebrate Life Iowa.
