Obituary

Coy Marie Carlon was born April 24th, 1943, to Harold and Dorothy Carlon. Coy passed away March 17th, 2026, after a tough battle from complications of Demetia and Cancer. Coy grew up in Sioux Rapids, Iowa, graduating in 1961 from Sioux Rapids High School. Coy was very active in High School including a multitude of friends, basketball, PEP Club, Glee Club, Band playing the piano and flute, Choir, Student Council, Majorette, Drama Club, 4-H, and was crowned Homecoming Queen her Senior year. Coy was always driven for success academically and in most things she pursued in life. In March 1964, she married Robert Paul Baker and started a family of her own. Coy continued to lead a very active life caring for her family, bowling, golfing, playing in the garden and with her flowers, hosting friend and family gatherings, all while continuing to grow as a healthcare provider. Although life took Coy and Bob in separate directions, they remained friends and together they continued to raise their 3 children with love and respect. In 1988, Coy found a new love for Country line dancing at Denny Arthurs in Urbandale, where she met Leo (Tony) Green. Coy and Tony married in April of 1990 and moved to Prescott Arizona where she found a passion for all antiques. Coy and Tony soon opened their own Antique store in Prescott, "Any Ole Tyme and Yesterdays Lady". Coy continued her career in healthcare, achieving her Bachelors of Arts, MA of Nursing , was President of the Iowa Nurses Association, Nurse of the year, and finally her APRN. She retired as a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with her own office in Prescott, AZ. Soon after, health issues took Coy and Tony to Oceanside, California where they both retired, enjoying life with their 2 Bichon fur babies. Coy lost her loving husband Tony in June 2020, during the Covid Epidemic, to complications following a heart attack. Coy moved to Florida to live with her daughter, Lynae Millette and her husband Jon where she enjoyed sitting in the sun by the water, playing Bridge at her Adult center, and loving on our fur babies, Millie and Max. Life and family took Jon, Lynae, and Coy back to their roots in Iowa. Coy was blessed with opportunities to spend time with family, grand kids, great grand kids, and long time friends that she had not seen for years. Coy is survived by her 3 children; Bradley(Julie) Baker of Spring, Texas; Christopher (Char) Baker of Rochester, New York; and Lynae (Jon) Millette of West Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren Alex, Quincy, Jenna, Mallory, Ian, Paige, Tracy, Tommie, Nicholas, Thomasina, Frankie, as well as her 26 Great grandchildren, numerous cousins and other family and friends. Coy was preceded in death by her husband Tony Green, father Harold Carlon, mother Dorothy Carlon, sisters Candace Carlon and Susan Schafer. Coys wishes were to be cremated and buried in her family plot in Sioux Rapids, Iowa which will be planned for a later date this spring.
