Obituary

Carol Jean (Price) Elias, known by many as Jeanie, passed away peacefully on December 17th at her home in Parnell, Iowa. She was born on August 23, 1961, in Ottawa, Illinois, to Carroll and Bonnie Price. Jeanie was an extraordinary woman whose life was defined by faith, perseverance, and unwavering devotion to her family. A proud single mother of four, she worked tirelessly to provide for her children, modeling strength, resilience, and unconditional love every step of the way. She was a longtime member of the Salvation Army Church, where her faith guided her throughout her life. Jeanie's work ethic was unmatched. She dedicated 24 years of service to United Technologies before its closure and later continued serving her community through her work with the United States Postal Service. Even while working full-time, she took on multiple part-time jobs, including Old Navy and Banana Republic, never shying away from hard work to ensure her family was always cared for. Her family was her greatest joy. She cherished her children, adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and shared a special bond with her beloved dogs. A huge Mickey Mouse fan, Jeanie's home felt like walking into Disney itself—filled with joy, warmth, and whimsy that perfectly reflected her loving spirit. Jeanie is now reunited in heaven with her mother and her precious great-granddaughter, where there is peace and eternal love. She is lovingly survived by her father, Carroll Price; her children: Jennifer Sparlin (Chad Jones), Amy Page, Johnathan Elias of Williamsburg, and Aaron Elias (Lindsey Finnegan) of Parnell, Iowa; her sisters: Donna (Pat) Jackson, Karen (Herb) Hines, and Vickie Manning; her treasured grandchildren: Haley, Jared, Karley, Tanner, Elizabeth, Nate, Reese, Ethan, Jonathan, Brayden, Jayna, Greyson, Jordan, Jackson, and Maverick; and her great-grandchildren, Emberly and Easton. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, especially the Cancer Center, for the exceptional care and compassion shown throughout her journey. A special thank you to Courtney, Jessie, and Deb for their kindness and dedication. The family also wishes to thank Essence of Life Hospice for helping Jeanie remain at home, exactly where she wanted to be, surrounded by her family. Special appreciation goes to Tiffany, Denise, and aide Amey for their gentle and loving care. A Celebration of Life will be at Stone Creek Golf Course in Williamsburg, IA January, 10th at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family and mailed to P.O. Box 175, Parnell, IA 52325. Though she will be deeply missed, Jeanie's legacy of love, faith, and strength will live on through the generations she leaves behind. ◦
