Barbara Ford passed away on June 10, 2026, at the age 92

Barbara was the be loved daughter of Cecil and Elsie Vogelgesang and grew up in a close knit family alongside her sisters, Diane Dreusickie Riley and Linda Dela Barba, all of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ladell Ford, with whom she shared many cherished years.

Barbara is survived by her loving children, daughter Kristy (Keith) Lux and son Michael (Lisa) Ford. She was a proud grandmother to Michael (Alex) Coglan, Amanda (James) Jolly, and Ashley Ford, who brought immense joy to her life. She also leaves behind her niece and nephews, Mark and Jim Dreusickie, as well as Terri Kemp and Lisa Tozer. Family meant everything to Barbara, and she treasured every moment spent with those she loved.

She had a deep appreciation for music and found special joy in the songs of Barry Manilow and James Taylor and also loved Milky Way candy bars. She worked for 30yrs at the University of Iowa Hospital Information Desk, which she loved. Her warmth, kindness, and caring nature made everyone feel welcome. She had a remarkable gift for conversation and could light up any room with her presence. Barbara will be remembered for her love, generosity, and the lasting impact she made on the lives of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Now everyone, eat a Milky Way in her honor!
