Obituary

Allan Lindemoen, 89, of Prairie City, Iowa, passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 4:15 p.m. at Hy-Vee Banquet Room in Altoona. Visitation will immediately follow until 9:00 p.m. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Allan was born in Donaldson, Minnesota on April 22, 1934, to Melroy and Anna (Mickelson) Lindemoen. Growing up his family lived in various states until settling in Des Moines. After school, he joined the Army and served in the 101 Airborne Screaming Eagle's during the Korean Conflict. When returning home after serving his country Allan followed in his father's footsteps and began working for Neumann Brother's Inc. in Des Moines as a crane operator. He married the love of his life Beverley Lee on February 14, 1959. The couple resided in Des Moines where they raised their family together. Most large buildings, parking ramps, and even the capital remodel he worked on. After 45 years with Neumann Brother's Inc. he retired. He was a member of Calvery Open Bible Church in Des Moines and the Operating Engineer Local 234 Union. Allan loved spending time with his family, spending time at Church, helping the sick, consoling families after a loss, repairing vehicles, watching and playing baseball, and remodeling projects. Those left to cherish his loving memory are his children Mark Lindemoen, Cindy Powell, and Carol (Randy) Lindemoen-Hinkle; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters Beverly Lehman and Barb (Jim) Fitzgibbons; brothers David (Janice) Lindemoen and Duane Lindemoen; many nieces and nephews; and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Beverley, sisters Phyllis Smith and Shirley Pittman. Celebrate Life Iowa has been entrusted with his cremation care.
